Our Clubs…
Our Blue Group is the basic skill level group where most children start their journey. The Red Group builds on basic social skills that were learned in the blue group. Our Green Group is the advanced group. Children in the green group put the skills learned to use with their peers in a structured environment. In addition, we have a Purple Group for our younger friends and a Yellow Group for our adolescent friends. Specialty Clubs... In addition to our traditional groups- we also have THE LITTLE LADIES group and THE MONARCH CLUB. Our facilitators… Each of our facilitators has been trained in The Social Butterflies Club ™ Social Language Program Method and each is a certified provider for the program. Some of our facilitators will include Speech-language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants, Speech-Language Pathology Assistants, Special Educators, Early Childhood Educators, or Skills Trainers. The Beginning… Your child’s journey will begin with a placement screening assessment. We will schedule you and your child for a visit to our clinic. The purpose of the visit is to obtain a baseline of skill level for your child and familiarize the child with the clinic. We will also take each parent through the structure of the group and answer any questions that arise. The baseline will allow us to target specific goals for your child. You will be able to track his/her progress by session with our progress reports handed out at the end of each 4 week session. Our Nurturing Environment… The screening tool will allow us to place your child in the appropriate group for his/her skill level. We do not group children by age; however you will find that most groups are comprised of children within 1-3 years of each other. We are not diagnosis driven. Unlike traditional speech therapy, it is not a requirement to have a diagnosis when entering the group. We treat the problem not the diagnosis. Please remember this when your child is placed in a group with other children. Part of living in our world is accepting each person for their differences. We hope that our parents will follow this guideline as well. |
